Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013, portrayed Lorna Mello as a prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA diploma. Yael enjoyed the privilege to have the opportunity to work with Australia's leading storytellers. She's worked behind the scenes on film, television and theatre. Yael's work is well-known and thriving in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was able to find a new place of residence within New York City when the production premiered to acclaim in the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael co-founded The Cannery. The Cannery is the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages writing, innovative creative projects, and supports the formation of new writers.
